Day Five of the Fallen Warriors Tournament 07:00 - Inside the Hilderin Barracks Team Knowledge Hunt
Inside of the Hilderin Barracks is a meeting room adjacent to the kitchen hall, with a long solid oak table and chairs for discussing war tactics. This morning the area serves as the starting point for the Team Knowledge Hunt.
The Team Knowledge Hunt is a game made up of teams competing against each other for points. A question is asked and the team with the correct answer first gets a point.
What are the questions? Questions consist of trivia and knowledge of this forum. Everything appearing within these pages is fair-game. Characters, places, events, translations, and more.
How many to a team? Ideally we would want three or four to a team. Obviously no less than two.
How do I sign up?There is a sign-up sheet on the oak table before you. Write your name, and when enough names have been collected I will announce the members of each team. You can then decide on a Team Name to be known as for the remainder of this event. How do I answer the question? From the moment the question is posted, you're team will have 48 hours to come back with an answer. The first team to have the correct answer before the 48 hours are up will get the point.
How do we discuss our answer? Feel free to tell the other members of your team your email address or instant messenger sign-on so you can communicate. Otherwise, send each other PMs on the forum. I suggest communicating as you would not want to have all members searching in the same area for the answer. And, one member may already know the answer without even looking! Should we have a team captain? Yes. One member should be designated the Team Captain and post your answers. However, everyone is encouraged to continue to RP interesting or exciting events about this competition. Even randomness is a good thing. Keep it interesting!
Where does the game happen? Right here in this thread. I will let all the team members know when the game is going to start. How long will the game run? The game ends when a team reaches 15 points.
How do we get points? Only a completely correct answer will gain the point. No partial credit is given. The last question will be worth 3 points, and the second to last question worth 2.

Trinity walked up the path to the barracks, brimming with energy. This Hunt was going to be her favorite, she could tell. After all, it was based on your knowledge of the world. What better person to compete than a Wizard, seekers of knowledge? Well, at least, Trinity was a seeker of knowledge. She hummed a little tune to herself, going over things she had researched while on her adventures. This hunt she was determined to win.
However, she was a little nervous about the whole team thing. What if the other members didn't like her? What if they assumed she was a know-it-all, and really snobby? What if they took her curiosity the wrong way? Trinity was very curious, but would the others find it just plain annoying?
Trinity sighed, messing with her hair, which was down at the time. Her eyes were watching the ground as she wandered up the path, not looking anybody in the eyes. Finally, painfully finally, she reached the door. Opening it quickly, she walked in, looking around. Almost immediately she spotted the sign-up sheet.
Smiling as big as a little girl with candy, she walked up, signing her name gracefully. It was done. She was signed up! The excitement!

Natulcien entered the room just as Trinity put the quill back into the miniature tankard of ink. She had stepped out briefly to use the privy, hardly expecting anyone to arrive while she was gone. Pleasantly surprised, Natulcien smiled softly as she passed the young lady and made her way to the other side of the table - the side furthest from the door.
"Sel morgen," Natulcien said in the elven tongue, then switched immediately into the common speech. "It is almost too fine a day to be in doors." Glancing at the sign-up sheet, Natulcien caught the name of the first participant.
"Well, Trinity, I certainly hope you aren't the only one who is brave enough to join the knowledge competition. You are a wizard, yes? Lovers of wisdom, seekers of knowledge and truth. It is only fitting that such a one as that should be the first to sign up."
Natulcien gave a friendly smile as she sat down in one of the solid wood chairs at the table.
"You did not bring any friends with you?" Natulcien asked, hoping to spark some conversation as they waited for others to arrive. Natulcien feared that, out of all of the competitions, this one would appeal to very few - more were interested in the physical challenges.

Trinity was more than surprised when the Queen herself entered and started talking to her. To her! The Queen! Talking! To her!
Trinity, breath!
Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, Trinity smiled, even managing a chuckle at the last statement. She was, indeed, the only one here so far. Always up for competitions, Trinity had hoped more people would come by now.
"With my luck, any friends I might have made would want to stay away," Trinity said, blushing. She wasn't really the most sociable people around Wealdendun. "I'd probably lure a dragon here or something."
It was true, as well. Trinity was very curious, and as a side-effect she got herself in too much trouble. Sometimes she didn't even have to do anything to attract enemies. So far Trinity had been able to fend off enemies on her own, but not without injuries. Soon, she might not be able to make it out on her own. Trinity dearly hoped she had a traveling companion before that happened though!

Adelle walked up to the oak table sure and proud. She pushed her long braid out of her face and signed her name with flourish, her handwriting neat and curvy. Then she noticed the two others in the room. "Oh," she gasped when she recognized the mighty queen. She gave a slight curtsy and then nodded to Trinity. She introduced herself.
"I am Adelle Tonalsin," she stated simply, smoothing out her dress and lightly touching the golden locket hanging around her neck. She straightened, resuming her nearly constant good posture. She flashed a rare smile and paused. She was not used to being around royalty, although her mother was of noble blood. A moment of sadness flickered within her deep purple eyes. "No," she thought, mentally scolding herself. "Do not be sad. This is what mother would have wanted for me." She had not thought of her mother very often but whenever she did fresh waves of pain washed through her.

Natulcien laughed merrily. "We have quite a few dragons around, believe it or not - you just need to know where to look for them. Luckily for us, I know the last Shaman who is able to control them. I highly doubt anything you do actually causes any mischief. You only think so because you are present for negative events - nothing more."
Natulcien gave Trinity a reassuring smile, catching on to Trinity's way of speaking as one in need of convincing that she a better person than she thought herself to be. It was many, many years ago but the shame she felt then was a most powerful memory - there was a time when she could not stand to hear the sound of her own name as the very meaning behind it reminded her that she had failed all of her fellow Ieldran.
Another female entered the barracks, signing her name in a lovely penmanship.
"Morning greetings to you, Adelle Tonalsin. I am very glad that you are able to join us. This is Trinity," the Queen motioned with her left hand the other female in the room. "Since you two are the first to arrive, would you liked to be paired into the first team? You may receive an additional member, or two, depending on how many others arrive."

"I would be delighted to be paired with you Trinity." Adelle spoke, her voice excited. "I cannot wait for others to arrive," she continued. She turned to focus her attention more fully on Trinity. " I am very glad to met you." She flashed a smile at the woman. "We are sure to make a great team, I can tell already."
