With 1700 years of background history, seven continents, and over 20 playable races, Wealdendun is a complete fantasy world RPG experience. Unlike other worlds, where the excitement was in the past, even 'today' Wealdendun battles evil and fights for the future. With magic, swords, and shields the world of Wealdendun comes alive with elves, dragons, mortals, faeries, wolven changelings and more. Unlike other worlds, dragons do not just breathe fire - some control decay, ice, or healing among others. And unlike other stories, faeries are not small but are a cross between elf and dragon. One of the last remaining Ieldran, the twelve elves granted powers no others have, Natulcien works to save Wealdendun from the forces of Genipan, another Ieldran once thought dead. Those of the light and those of the dark continually battle as this story continues through the site's members and their interactions.

Wealdendun Post Office The Flying Hawk Post
The Courier Heralds of the Tir Rathon Rangers each patrol a different section of Northern Wealdendun, the area north of the Desert of Wyrm and the Forest of Shadow commonly known as Wealdendun.
On horseback they ride from village to village, city to city, greeting friend and foe alike with no bias. In exchange for their services the Courier Heralds ask only for some small item in return that has been made or grown by those using the services. Common items are fresh apples or rabbit, shirts or hats, bows or wood-carvings. Beyond Tir Rathon, most of Wealdendun still functions on the barter system.
As mail arrives from all over Wealdendun, the Courier Heralds place the letters in their sacks only to return at the end of the day to the nearest Correspondence Cabin, where they hand over the parcels to one of Natulcien's Gelogas - the giant hawks with more personality than an average beast- and sleep for the night. These hawks use their mighty wings to return the mail to Tir Rathon where it is organized and sent to the particular courier with the destination on their route for delivery.
The people who live outside of a pickup area must bring their letter to the nearest village, town, or city for the Courier Heralds to pick up. It is here that these people must return to receive mail (unless a friendly neighbor picks up their letters).
About this thread:

Malluni Edhel Elven Glades
Surudæg, Odnihtu 26, 1784, Aertons
Sota Malluni,
Congratulations are in order, for many events it would seem. Your recent promotion to Delegate of the Prophets, leader of Holt Hlynn and the Sylvan elves, is exciting as well as welcomed. I have had chance, on occasion, to witness your skills in battle and I have no doubt that you will make a fine leader. Morgensweg speaks highly of you, both as a friend as well as a member of her Hilderin. At times I wonder if Morgensweg keeps to herself overmuch - she is focused with her task as Captain and does not have much time beyond her tasks. It does well for her to have you as a friend, I am certain.
Your recent engagement to Turen Modðracu is exciting as well. You two will make a fine match, and Meotod willing, live happily together for a long time. I do not know how much of your lives you have shared with each other, but if he has not shared the story of how he and I met, you should certainly ask him. His surname is true to his nature, as I am sure you know having fallen in love with him. We elves have long memories, but even after many years the first memory of Turen is very strong.
I hope this letter finds you well. I congratulate you on the happy events that have come into your life recently, in spite of the dark times that have fallen across our land. I am grateful for people like you, who will fight for the good and protect our lands from evil.

Deren Heortearian Our Lord King King's Palace, Throne Room Center Level, Rathonian Court Tir Rathon
Ceroudæg, Odnihtu 28, 1784, Aertons
My dearest Deren,
It is with much regret of mine that you must receive word of my journey by this means. Had you not had the duties of your status, perhaps you would have stayed in Rurisk for a while - the place we met years ago, though sometimes it seems just yesterday. By the time this letter finally reaches your hands, I will be amidst the worst storm every imagined.
I am traveling with Natulcien, Malluni, Turen and others in a quest to rid Wealdendun of the darkness of Genipan. I dare not say more for a I fear, even though the great hawk-friends of Natulcien will carry this letter to the castle, that this letter may be read by the wrong eyes. I would not wish to jeopardize the chances we have of defeating this vile fallen Ieldran.
The decision was made very rapidly, as I had been recovering from my wounds for only a day before I once again rose to the occasion. I will admit, I struggled with the thought of you vanishing before I could see you. And it pained me to know that you probably had more important matters than to see if I was injured in the battle. It was only by the help of many healers that I can still draw breath. I was touched by a poisoned arrow, by the most vicious faery I have ever laid eyes on. I blame my disappointment in you on the effects of the poison.
Part of me remains disappointed, that you did not look for me, that you returned to Tir Rathon without leaving me word. I will eventually come to terms with these feelings, and already I am beginning to forgive you.
Yet, here I am, leaving you behind with nothing but a belated letter of my absence. I am truly sorry that I was unable to see you before I left. Sometimes I wonder if our love is but a dream. There are so many things I wish to learn about you, but the complications of Captain and King keep us from becoming too close.
If I do not return, I want you to know that I was honored to give you my service as my King, and I was privileged to give you my heart as my love. You will always hold both.
I hope we both live to see each other again. But we both live dangerous lives in these dangerous times.
Faithfully yours,
Morgensweg

Morgensweg,
First and foremost I must apologize to you. I had heard you were wounded on the battlefield, but did not come to see you. That cannot be undone but I shall regret it for a while still. I do not wish to make excuses but I feel you deserve an explaination.
For some time now the Council in Tir Rathon has been becoming more and more corrupt. You may not have heard news, but a Steward controls the city. While he is a noble man, the council members are not, and with my current absense I fear for his safety. Leaving the battle so quick was my decision, fearing the coucil would use the absensce of the Hilderan and the Royal Guard to have their own forces take the city.
I had a long absensce afterwards, of which I will not discuss in this letter. I returned to the Slums and lie hidden, trying to forget my royal lineage. I realized that was not possible and have now begun plans to over throw the council. I am currently on my way back to Tir Rathon. As I snuck into the palace and reclaimed my ancestors sword, I ran into a young girl. She has a mystical power and is very confused, so I brought her to the wizards, but we found no welcome. With need of haste I am returning to the city tomorrow, attempting to find those loyal to me.
I fear for your safety most of all. You journey will no doubt lead you into dangerous places. It pains my heart that we are seperated by such a great distance. As much as I'd like your sword here for this upcoming fight, I'd rather have your arms wrapped around me and be able to forget the world.
I will constantly look for your return, even if I am surround by a thousand enemies. I trust this hawk will return safely to you. He realized the danger in the palace and hunted me down to give this letter to me personally. If you do not return by the time this civil war is over, I will come look for you myself. I so very much wish to do that now, but I cannot abandon so many who believe in me.
We are mounting up now to return to Tir Rathon, where I go from there, I do not know. Just be wary if you return early. Relations between the Council and Rurisk are already hostile.

Dear Lapara, I am sorry to write you unexpectedly like this, as you do not know me, and I do not know you. But I was recently in Daelon and overheard a brief conversation. "Lapara Jasnino must not catch wind of this," said one. "Yet she is so near," said another," searching for Valili."
As I am not one for conventions, I took it upon myself to do just what they wished not be done. I do not confess to understand any of it, but I was lead to believe you were last in Rurisk. I hope this letter finds you.

If you don't mind, did you manage to hear the location of Valili? It would give me such a big lead and I've been searching for decades. Where did you here these people talking. I am so sorry to bother you but you really have gotten my attention. I was just about to leave when the mail-person saw me. He gave me this letter and I quickly wrote this reply.

Dear Lapara,
You have probably been waiting anxiously for a reply. My apologies, as traveling on a ship often makes it difficult for me to receive my letters. Luckily one of the hawks was passing by.
I really must make this brief as I have an important task at hand.
Specifically I was near the inn Moonlight Ribbon, and the horse stalls there, when I heard the conversation. I did tell you that it was in Dealon, correct? I don't believe the Elves call it by any other name, but just in case you are uncertain Dealon is the Elven Port south from Rurisk along the coast. Now it is a busy trading port, with all races represented. I suggest you move through the town with caution as it isn't like Rurisk.
I did not hear a mention of Valli's location. If I remember right, the two males were also discussing a boat. But as Daelon is the main supplier of Elven vessels, this seems unlikely to be of much use. I suggest you try asking around the town.
I really must cut this letter to a short close. Best of luck.

It was unnecessary that you remembered my birthday, or even cared. For this I thank you. I know that kind words are seldom spoken by your tongue, which makes reading these a pleasant surprise.
Forgive me for my concise reply. I am not a man of words but of action, and I hope the coming weeks will allow me to demonstrate that.
Your Faithful Man-at-Arms, First Captain Janos T'leth Ayorah of the White Legion On board the Se Sceadu
Tycho Mannheim Cloak and Dagger Inn Carinel Gamol Tir Rathon
Dear Tycho,
The time we spoke of has come. I cannot give you any details yet, and definitely not in writing. But I can tell you this: I am preparing our return. I wanted to gather all of our former captains... but Perseus is in hiding, Julius turned and Tyra is dead. That leaves you, Alomir and me remaining captains of the Legion.
I must therefore delegate to you two important tasks: Firstly, you are to find the soldiers who were once under your command. Those who are still loyal you must regroup and reequip. Those who want out you must watch over. Those who have turned, or are working for the current council, you must arrange to be killed. You must then seek out Tyra's soldiers, and use them to replace any missing men under your command.
Your second task is to eliminate Julius. He knows all about us, which is reason enough to take him out before he learns of our return. I do not care how he dies, so long as he does.
See to it. First Captain Janos Tl'eth Ayorah of the White Legion Undisclosed Location.

Sir Alomir Orsoan Orsoan Manor
Alomir,
Greetings, my boy! Remember me, Sir Edwin the Paladin? Ah, but I remember seeing you, the day you were knighted! We met briefly, but in that time I became interested in you! So full of spirit and adventure! You remind me of my young daughter, Trinity! She's such a curious little thing! She's a Wizard now, maybe you have met her on your adventures in this vast world?
Haha, if you have no doubt you saved her from a dragon or two, yes? Always seems to get herself into trouble, but she enjoys that! Makes her life more interesting she says! As a father, I must say she pushes her luck sometimes, but its not like she purposely walks into danger. No, she always does it by accident.
Well, boy (or rather man now, yes?), I would much like to meet you in person! Get to know each other a bit? Talk about some knighting? Yes? I have a feeling someday you might just be a Paladin. I met you briefly, but in that brief time I got a sense of honor.

Rose,
I do not know if this letter will ever find you, but I wanted to let you know that I will come for you - some day. And maybe, wherever that creature has taken you, this letter will give you hope. Someone, I pray, will read it to you. I can't image how you must feel without your faithful bird as your eyes.
After you were taken from us, Jacob, Talias, and I enlisted the help of a wizard named Ringar Grom. We were traveling on a ship when we were attacked. Your brother and the aforementioned Master Grom vanished. Talias seems to think they voluntarily left with something she termed "an element of fire". I do not want to disbelieve her, but I saw nothing as I was fighting to stay afloat.
It is just Talias and me now, heading back to Tir Rathon to regroup. I don't even know where to start looking for you. But I will. I couldn't live with myself if I left you for whatever fate the Wind Serpent has for you.

Sir Demetris,
Greetings to you Sir Demetris! I hope this letter finds both you and your family in excellent health. I could not easily forget meeting such a well respected Paladin as yourself. I grew up listening to the Bards sing about your quest to recover a lost artifact.
Regrettably, I have not had the privilege of meeting Ms. Demetris along my travels. I would not be surprised if Trinity inherited some measure of her mother's power. I have heard that Mrs. Demetris is often times described as one of the most accomplished Wizards of our age.
I agree that perhaps a meeting might be enjoyable. It has been a long time since my knighting ceremony, and my father would be delighted to have you and your family stay with us on holiday at Orsoan Manor. The Demetris family will always be welcome in our home.

Natulcien had a special batch of letters to deliver and cradling a large stack she made her way into the central Flying Hawk Post station in Tir Rathon. As these were special letters, anonymous senders, Natulcien began delivering them in a special way as well. Taking very miniature swords, more like toothpicks than anything else, Natulcien pinned each letter on a special board. Folded into a small square, each letter displayed a single name, and only that, on the front. Who it was from, well, that would be their best guess.
Dear Rose,
The flower of your name pales in the light of your face, your eyes, your lips. So gentle, so pure, yet strong just the same - a troublemaker in your own way. The sound of your voice could move mountains, and your sightless glance could still cause elation. I liked you from the moment I met you.
You are more powerful than anything I ever dreamt of, radiant in your strength. Your skin is perfect, cold and untouchable, and your silver hair like living daggers. Your eyes a raging storm. Let me into your world. Let me touch you, hold you. Your vengeance, your malice, is intoxicatingly morbid. I want to drink of your confidence and bask in the flame of your glory. I want to be one with you. As you bring the world under your control, I want to be by your side, your dark Queen.
------------------------------------------
Dearest Deren,
With golden hair, waving, I wait for you With lavender eyes, never-blinking, I wait for you With sword at my hip, resting, I wait for you In the morning light
In my dreams, you come for me In the sand, you come for me In your stirrups, you come for me In the morning light
By my side, you fight with me By the shore, you fight with me By our friends, you fight with me In the morning light
By my side, you lay with me By my side, you comfort me By my side, you'll always be In the morning light
I once read a tale of a matchmaker. She was so set on finding the perfect husband or wife for those who lived near her that she failed to see who she was falling in love with. And jealousy nearly got the best of her. Watch out - you may fall for the very one you have been seeking to match with someone else.
I hear there is going to be a masked ball soon. I will find you and I will dance with you, and maybe we will laugh and enjoy ourselves - but you shall never know who I am. I will wear a green mask like dragon wings. Look for me
-------------------------------------------------
Janos,
Death is calling your name. I'd hate for you to keep him waiting.
-------------------------------------------------
Turen,
Your bride is not who you think she is.
-------------------------------------------------
Malluni,
I see painful events in your future. That makes me grin wickedly
I think I'd marry you. You are graceful, and unique when it comes to races of this world. Too many Ruriskian elves - you, on the other hand, are a sight to fall asleep to. Where have you been all of my life?
I know you can't read this, but it helps - from time to time- to think that you can. To think that I can speak to you and you listen, some times I can even hear your reply. And then you laugh softly and wrap your arms around me. You make it rain and we dance beneath Meotod's happy tears and watch the clouds swirl ribbons around the stars. Then I am complete again and my heart feels as if my chest can no longer contain it - that were you to kiss me one more time I think I would burst with joy. But the rain stops, and the night grows cold, and I can no longer feel your arms around me. You are gone, and with you went my heat. I never stop thinking about you, my love. You were a part of me the moment I was created. Without you, I have an unrepairable hole. I love you, and I wish you were here again.

I don't know who messaged me, and I'm not going to guess, but I'll reply nonetheless.
To whomever wished me good things,
The life of one such as I is filled with hate, death and blood. It is my lot, and I accept it. However, it would be foolish of me to say that I do not appreciate good will and human affection. I am, after all, a human. I therefore thank you for your kind words. May I one day be able to return that kindness.
To whomever is watching me,
Keep watch if you will. If ever my blade is set on you, no amount of watching will keep you from the grave.
To whomever wished me death,
Death, you say?
Death whispers to me every moment of every hour of every day. Death is my bride, she is my heart and my soul. The blood I spill is the lifeblood of our affection, and she lovingly protects me and guides my hand. I am a paladin of Death, delivering my foes into her hands. I am the Deathbringer.
I do not know who you are, for in my work I have gained a myriad of enemies. But consider this: I have more enemies than you can possibly imagine. Yet here I am, almost 20 years in my line of work, and I am still very much alive. Everybody who has tried to kill me is now resting underground. Consider this, and consider whether it is in your best interest to cross me. If it is, well... I look forward to sending you to meet my beloved.

If you do not want to die, then please, by all means, stay away! I will not be offended, I will be glad I could somehow save another innocent.
If you do stay, then I promise I will not let you die easily. I won't be the one to stand by and watch an allie die. I will likely be unconscious before anyone can lay a hand on my friends.
