I have been working on one particular novel now since 2005 but cannot write it to my satisfaction and must take a step back from it. Role-playing on Wealdendun takes much if not most of my creativity,... more
With 1700 years of background history, seven continents, and over 20 playable races, Wealdendun is a complete fantasy world RPG experience. Unlike other worlds, where the excitement was in the past, even 'today' Wealdendun battles evil and fights for the future. With magic, swords, and shields the world of Wealdendun comes alive with elves, dragons, mortals, faeries, wolven changelings and more. Unlike other worlds, dragons do not just breathe fire - some control decay, ice, or healing among others. And unlike other stories, faeries are not small but are a cross between elf and dragon. One of the last remaining Ieldran, the twelve elves granted powers no others have, Natulcien works to save Wealdendun from the forces of Genipan, another Ieldran once thought dead. Those of the light and those of the dark continually battle as this story continues through the site's members and their interactions.
After the End.... « Thread Started on Jul 24, 2009, 4:18am »
Dyra looked around the quiet square, uncertain what her course of action should be. She'd heard the news, she'd read the posters plastering everything that they could...and she wasn't sure how it had happened. This world was dying? She looked at the sun, still shining brilliantly above her, although the cold air made it appear a bit more pale than the norm, and shook her cloak out, watching as ice shards scattered at her feet. She had been....in another place, before this. With someone, but it had all just shifted, and here she stood, reading the posters with a cool sick dread in her heart.
She hadn't found any other than herself, though she'd trailed through a few of the roads that encompassed the square that she was pondering in. Her breath cold, frozen on the air, she looked at the perfect white of the snow around her, and then back to the sheet of colored paper that she hadn't been able to let go, yet. "The End Of The World!!" and below that "And This Time We Mean It!!" and felt the chill she was trying to surpress shudder up her spine.
"Well...now what?" She asked as she looked out at the frozen landscape...
{To all: I've never been good at this part. So far, I've seen the death of 5 message boards, three of which I've truly felt a part of, and this being one of those precious few. I don't like endings...I never have. And so I'll leave it like this...if someone posts, that's great. If not...well, I suppose it's time I find a new persona. Nat, I cannot understand how hard it must have been for you, to have so many wonderful, well thought out and consistent characters and not to tell others. To tell them would surely change their reactions, and I do understand. You've done well! Be Well!}

A figure stood not too far away from Dyra, leaning against the cold outer wall of a shop in the square, watching with tear-rimmed eyes as the girl read the poster. Bound tightly with twine a bundle of posters were clutched in her hand, ready to be nailed in the various cities and their respective squares and halls.
It saddened her to have to tell the citizens of Eorð Foldé that the end was upon them. Nydelid, the jumping sun, had refused to appear in over six months leaving Elid alone to light the world. How would the world survive with only one sun. Indeed, Dyra's question was what everyone should be thinking - now what?
"Now, we survive," she spoke out, loud enough to be heard but no further effort, "somehow, we survive." Her voice threatened to crack with emotion and pulling her hood tighter beneath her chin Natulcien attempted to hide who she was. Her cloak was not blue, but rather a medium grey, and the only sign that she was the Queen of the Elves would be a stray lock of hair or the grace with which she walked away. Slightly bent over with the cold and the weight of the news, still she processed Ieldranic characteristics that could not be easily left behind. She left Dyra then, turning away from the square to carry her news elsewhere.
{Dyra: Thank you for the support and understanding! I am working on the new Wealdendun forum http://wealdendun.com/forum which will have an RP area - though to what extent is yet to be seen, and who might be interested will determine things as well. Feel free to keep in contact with me and watch the website for news in the future!}
